Dear Everyone,

What fun its been so far. I was kinda nervous to switch my flights in Atlanta because they put me towards the back of the L- 1011 and I only had an hour to switch from the domestic to international terminal.  Luckily they already gave me my boarding pass. I did make it and have enough time to go to the bathroom
before they started boarding. I was row 47 out of 50 something. I sat next to a girl who lived in Lille,
France she was going home from vacation. Finally, when I got out of the plan I went through my passport check in 5 min but ended up waiting 20 minutes or so for my bags. Then i went through customs with a big smile on my face and just kept walking because they were stopping people and having them pay.

Then I went out the door to see a big crowd of people in the greeting area. I was looking and then I saw towards the back a sign that said Corinne really big. So i smilled and went around and they saw me and they met me half way.  My first host parents, Peter and Jose and my officer from my rotary club Hans, came and got me. We got a glass of orange juice before we went to the car. Did I forget to tell you thats its 60 F here. Man I'm glad that I had my blazer ready.

We drove to Maastricht. I got sick towards the end of the way and threw up. They stopped the car and I had a paper envelop. I was kinda embarrased but the roads are very curvy on the highway. Then Jose and I walked to her house, where Peter and Hans were waiting with the car. Their house is magnificent. It's very modern in this old town. The rooms are very open. Its 3 stories. It has a round front and really cool glass windows. After that we left to go to Hans house. Thats where I'm staying until Sunday before I go to Castricum for my orientation.

Hans house is wonderful too. Its older but that makes it cool. It has 3 stories too. The front entrance is so cool. They have a scrubbery wall and the front gate is a opening in the scrubbery. Its a beautuful canopy. I will have to send pictures eventually to show you. I then took a nap for 2 hours but Maria, hans wife, had wake me up so that I could sleep later on and get on the European time schedule.  after my nap we had dinner and then Hans and I went from a walk around town. Its got churches and buildings that are 1000's of years old. Don't worry I will have plenty of churches to choose from there are 6 or more Catholic Churches in the same town. Then I went to sleep after watching the 8 oclock news.

Hans and Maria speak english but they are helping me with my Dutch. I have some yellow sticky tabs with names of things on it all over the place. And they always tell me how to say stuff. Then I went to bed at 10 pm and didn't get up until 12 noon.

Love always,

Corinne
