Another report from Claudia in Monbetsu, Japan |
|||
I am freezing! It started to snow two days ago and the temperature has been dropping ever since. After living in hot and sunny Florida for so long, I do not know how I will ever survive Monbetsu's harshly cold winter. How is the weather back home? I went to Sapporo this past weekend to visit my host sister. She was a Rotary Exchange Student to Oregon about 8 years ago (she speaks English very well). Her name is Yoko and she is 24 years old. She took me shopping, introduced me to many of her friends, we went dancing, etc. I had such a great time that I was very sad when I left. I only stayed in Sapporo for two days. I will move to Chika's house this Saturday. I am very excited, but also very sad. I will miss my current host family a lot. They have been very kind to me. I know the Niinuma's are extremely nice, but it takes me a long time to get adjusted well to big changes. Well, I do not have much more to write about. My life in Monbetsu has been the same since the last time I sent you an e-mail. I will send you another e-mail soon telling you all about my new host family. Give my regards to everyone at the Davie Rotary Club. Take care! Claudia * Joe Jones and I are keeping in touch. I love reading all about his adventures. * The exchange student that lives in Furano is from Canada. Furano is about a four hour car drive from Monbetsu. Furano is one of the most beautiful cities in Hokkaido and also one of the best places to ski at. |
