Nossa quanto tempo meu!  Espero que tudo bem com você! Esse è meu
relatório por abril e maio.

I know that it has been some time that I have written, but I must say  that I am really enjoying
the time that I have left here.  I went on my last  official trip with the exchange students here in
Brasil.  We went to the Foz  do Iguaçu.  The Falls of Iguaçu is the group of waterfalls that
separate  Brasil, Argentina, and Paraguay.  The trip was for one week.  This trip was  truly great, it was sort of a reunion for all those who went on the North  East trip and also an introduction to the wonderful world of traveling with  exchange students for all of the new students that came in January.  I must  say that I did feel good translating almost everything for the new ones.

After I got back from the trip I went to the annual district conference.   Now I was thinking of
not doing anything for the talent show, but I am so  glad that I did.  I danced to some Junkanoo
and the crowed went crazy!  I  took them for a little trip to the islands of the Bahamas and I felt
good. I  am still getting complements on how well I danced and represented my  country.  There
was also a group of exchange professionals from Italy.  They  came to Brasil for one month, and they stopped in my city first so after the  conference we all went for lunch and I learnt some  Italian.  The group was  made up of five men all from different professions and each stayed with Rotarians from their respective profession.  It was nice to have some other  foreigners in my little town.  After they left I had a little group of  exchanges students over and went partied like it was 2000.

School is coming  along well, but I think that my uniform shrunk in the wash or something.
I  have been giving quite a number of presentations to various high schools in  my city and in
neighboring cities, about the Bahamas and youth exchange.   The most frequently asked questions by the Brazilians are:  What do I like  most about Brasil? and Which do I like better Brasil or Bahamas?  My  responces are: Eu gosto muito de cultura e mulherada do Brasil. and  There  is no place like home, cause home is where the heart is.

I also switched families earlier this month.  The family that I am with  now I am not liking too
much, they are very hard and cold and old and  grumpy.  I have a host mom, dad, and
grandfather, they hardly ever talk to  me and when they do they are fussing at me for some
reason.  I try to  conversate with them , but I get better feedback from the family parrot.  It
really isn't like I am dying or something but it is not the most comfortable  atmosphere.  My
friends here are really helping me out with this and my  second family said that if it becomes too much that my room there is  waiting.   I was kinda of depressed for the last couple of days
because I  was packing up some of my things and thinking of how I am going home in  about a
month and how fast the time went.  I was at a friend's house and we  were talking about my year
here and I started crying and she told me to stop.  I told her I can't because I am really going
home in a couple of  weeks and some of the people I hold closet to my heart at this point,
there  is a strong chance that I will never see them again ever.  Then she told me  to save the tears for when I am on the plane going back home, and to just  make the most of this time  Then her mom and dad told me that it is not only  me who will be crying on the day that I go back, but also the many people  whose hearts that I have touched during this year, and that I will truly be  missed as a friend, brother and son.  After this I cried some more and then  I went out with all of my friends here.

So for all you exchange students who are thinking of how close it is for you  to be going home
just don't think about it until the day comes. I have  really enjoyed this time here in Brasil so
much, and I think that is the  most important thing to keep with you, the memories!  So thats all
that I  have to report for now.

So until next time, OH Yeah! Demeka congratulations  and keep up the good work.  Rimiro you
could send me your email you know.  Bye!
