Saturday 26 December 1998: I got up at 5:30 in the morning. Tom (my host Dad) woke me up. And I was so sleepy so I looked like a zombie again. First we had to go to turn the van back to the agency. And then we called the taxi to take us (Tom, Ignacio (the Chilean exchange student) and I) to airport. We were waiting for taxi about 35 minutes. We arrived Miami international airport at 6:45 and the plane left at 7:15 from Miami, Florida to Minneapolis, Minnesota by transit at Newark, New Jersey it took about 4 hours to be at Newark and then it took about 3 hours to Minneapolis, Minnesota from Newark, New Jersey. We arrived at Minneapolis about 15:30 at the local time in Minneapolis (1 hour behind iami). We took almost 45 minutes to check our bags out. I didn't know what happen. After that we went to rent a car for traveled from Minneapolis, Minnesota to Trego, Wisconsin. It took about 4 hours to be there but actually I took about 2 and a half but we lost the way at the beginning. Anyway we arrived there at Um. Almost 9 o'clock in the evening not for sure. The town that we went in Wisconsin is just a small town. There are about couple of thousands live over there. It cool but it was really really cold. The temperature over there went down almost -30 Celsius. Sometimes I couldn't understand how could people in Alaska live with ice and snow almost the entire of their life. Because it just only minus -10. I felt like I wanna died. But anyway we stayed in the Trego Inn (the owner is a friend of Tom). First before we went to the hotel we ran over to " Uncle Mike bar and grill" (the owner names is Mike and he also a friend of Tom and they used to live in Florida) It's like a bar and restaurant all together. We just ran over for said hallo to him and then we ran over hotel beside the bar. After we took our stuffs to the hotel we ran back over to a bar again. We stayed there until umm.. 11pm and then we back to the hotel and went to bed. These are all about first day of the trip. Sunday 27 December 1998: I woke up at 10:30am. We went to the bar to have some breakfast. And then we plan to go to the end of Lake Superior one of the Great Lake. It took like 4 hours to be there from Trego. During the way we stopped sometimes to take some pictures. But during the time on a car, I slept all the whole time to Lake Superior. I don't know exactly why. But Tom said the cold weather make you sleepy. We stopped again at Lake Superior for sight seeing and took some pictures. It was really really cold over there. Actually it was about -10 something but because of the wind made it go through almost -30Celsius not for sure. We didn't stay there that long cause it was too cold over there. We didn't run back to Trego. Because it went dark so early just like 4 al most 5 p.m. It looked like 7 or 8 p.m. at Miami. So we decided to stay at hotel in Bayfield, the little town close to the Lake Superior. After we checked in at the hotel. We went to the café near the hotel to eat something like sandwich and a couple of soup. And then we went back to hotel and relax. I felt sleep so early like 8 p.m. Monday 28 December 1998: I got up at almost 10a.m. We checked out from hotel at almost 11p.m. And went to restaurant. After we finished our breakfast, We walked along the coast beside Lake Superior. Oh I forgot something. I thing some of you didn't know that Great Lake is the biggest lake in the world included with Lake Superior (the biggest) Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, Lake Erie, and Lake Ontario. We took some picture and it so beautiful cause some part of the lake has frozen. We threw snowball to each other but not that much because it was too cold. We left Bayfield at almost 1 o'clock and went back to Trego. During the way back to Trego we stopped for sight seeing and took beautiful liked all the whole lake has frozen and the entire town was white. It was amazing and beautiful. I don't know how to explain to you how beautiful it was. I think because of this was just a second time of my life to see snow and lived with snow that's why. We also stopped at snowmobile agency near Trego to make an arrangement for rent snow mobile for couple days. We stopped again at a restaurant in Trego for lunch. After that we didn't do something special just sat in the bar and talked, played snow on the field between bar and hotel. That's it. Tuesday 29 December 1998: After I woke up in the morning because of the snowmobile agency I did like everyday brush my teeth, wash my face. I went to see snow mobile. It looked like motorcycle but on the snow. We ran over to Mike's house and he didn't ready to go yet (ran on the trail by snowmobile for sight seeing). So we decided to go warm up on the trail first. I didn't even know how to drive snowmobile. So Tom and Ignacio drove it. And first I went on snowmobile with Tom. And then he asked me if I wanted to drive so I jumped out to Ignacio's mobile. I didn't drive that long because we had a little bit accident. After we had an accident we went back to Mike's house. And then we went to restaurant in downtown for breakfast. When we finished our breakfast we came back to hotel for took a break for a while. We took a break like 15 minutes and then we started to drive the snowmobile. We decided to go to Minong the other city near Trego just 20 miles. I felt like I'm going to be freezing during the way because it's cold. On that they it was about -15 Celsius and plus the wind brew so strong on the way. We stopped during the to Minong to see the frozen lake. It was so beautiful. When we arrived Minong, we went to the bar to get some drink (no alcohol drink for me). We started run back to Trego 45 minutes later. During the way back we stopped again at gas station to get some gas for snowmobile. After we arrives hotel in Trego. We took a break for a while. Tom took a nap and Mike ran the snowmobile out again. After Mike left like 30 minutes, Ignacio start to run out again but not that far from the motel. He came back 15 minutes later. And then it's my turn to ran out so I ran out to the open space near hotel and the ground it was not the same level some of them are higher but not that much. I ran against the snow on higher level. It was so funny. We took the pictures of it. When we got tired we went back to hotel to take a nap. But I couldn't sleep so I went out and play snow with hotel owner's dog. It was funny. After that I didn't do anything special just ate dinner and went to bed. Wednesday 30 December 1998: We woke up at the same time like every morning. We went to eat breakfast at Mike's bar. After that we started to drive snowmobile out again. Today we went to the opposite side of yesterday. Everything was the same as yesterday except we saw some of deer during the way back. After that nothing special on this day anymore. Oh. I forgot something, this they was the coldest since we were there. We drove snowmobile out at night to Spooner (Town near Trego). But we didn't go so far cause it was too cold. We stopped at the bar that close to Spooner had some drink and something for dinner and then we went back to the hotel. Thursday 31 December 1998: We got up a little bit early today. Because Tom said the friend of Mike gonna take us for ice fishing. So after we took a shower, we went to eat breakfast at Mike's place. And we wait until 11 but we didn't go because it was too cold. Today we have to run back to Minneapolis, Minnesota. Because our flight gonna live on New Year day at 7:15 in the morning so we didn't want to get up like 4 or 5 in the morning. We took like 3 hours to be there. When we arrived about 3 something in the afternoon. I can't remember. We ran ahead to the mall of the America, the biggest mall in U.s.a. It's huge but I didn't get so excite with it. We stay there 2 almost 3hours. And then we went to hotel that close to the mall. After we checked in at the hotel, Tom went to turn the car back. Ignacio and I went back to the mall for a while then we went back to hotel. We had nothing to do in hotel on New Year eve. We didn't go outside because it was so cold. So we stayed in hotel and rent a movie name Armageddon. Actually I've seen it before but I didn't get bored with it. After we the movie finished, we went to bed. Friday 1 January 1999: We woke up at 5:45 in the morning and get ready to took a van to airport. We left the hotel at 6:30. We arrive at the airport at 7 o'clock. We had some breakfast at the airport but not that much. The plane left the airport at 7:45. This flight was not a direct flight to Miami. We transit at Houston, Texas. It took about 3 hours to Houston. During the way to Houston, I slept all the whole flight. We arrived at Miami about 1:30 in the afternoon. And these are all about my trip to Wisconsin, Badger State and Minnesota, Gopher State. And I really enjoyed it.
